Welcome, welcome!
The main purpose of this blog is to document my college work and anything else I find time for on the side. Mostly this will be digital stuffs with the odd scan thrown in if I'm feeling particularly generous, hopefully something here will at least be a little interesting for you, enjoy.

New study sheet!
Adam and I have kinda turned these study sheets into an every-other-day thing, I swear the most time consuming part is finding the pictures to stick into the next one. Here is the palette section of the latest dooda, I actually managed to force this one out without resorting to the colour picker! Having said that, I did check a few of my colours to see how close I managed to get to the original, it's amazingly hard to isolate a colour within a picture as the surroundings trick the eye to no end.

Squinting your eyes helps a lot when it comes to identifying colours, also you end up getting a bit of a nack for it, depending on situation!
As for reference pictures kindgirls is a great source for female models and http://www.terragalleria.com/ is awesome for environments.
Now i've got my monitor back I can get back into painting! Should join me for daily environment studies.
Also, you could benefit from using more saturated colours, its surprising how much saturation also changes value and turns the form. Vibrant colours are win.
